Frank Stief

Frank Stief is a patent engineer and qualified mineralogist. After completing his studies at the Leibniz University of Hanover, he worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Mineralogy, specialising in crystallography. There he worked in the field of materials research and developed various materials and substances using a wide range of analysis and synthesis methods, e.g. magnetic resonance, optical spectroscopy, X-ray methods and their evaluation.

He later worked as an editor for a daily newspaper and later as a freelance journalist in the science and technology department. He supplemented his training with a degree in patent law for engineers and scientists at the Beuth University of Applied Sciences in Berlin.

Due to this unusual combination of scientific and journalistic experience, Frank Stief not only has extensive knowledge of solid state physics, solid state chemistry and materials science, but also has expertise in public relations. In addition to thoroughly grasping the essential features of the invention and examining them for conclusiveness and patentability, this knowledge allows him to quickly recognise, analyse and solve abstract problems in a goal-oriented manner and, in particular, to present them in a comprehensible and lucid manner, even for those unfamiliar with the subject.
